Dr. Lau studies integrated/imbedded care models for provision of outpatient psychiatry. He is interested in interventional psychiatry, particularly external neuromodulation therapites such as ECT/TMS for a psychiatry disorders. His psychosomatic interest revolves around diagnosis and treatment of delirium, and potential use of interventional psychiatry in an inpatient adult medicine setting.
Dr. Lau serves as faculty on the Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison Service and is involved in general psychosomatic/consultation-liaison teaching. Specific topics include transplant psychiatry, psychiatry in CF, somatic symptom disorders, integrated care/embedded psychiatry models, and interventional modalities.
