Most recent project: A 12-month follow-up study of adolescents after the remission of their first manic episode

Clinical focus

Children and adolescents with treatment-resistant depression; bipolar spectrum disorders; cyclothymic disorder; disruptive mood dysregulation disorder; irritability, temper outbursts, aggression, and mood symptoms comorbid with various psychiatric disorders

Teaching focus

Diagnosis, treatment, etiology, neurobiology of the following diagnostic criteria: depressive disorders, bipolar and related disorders, anxiety disorders in youth, ADHD, learning disabilities (in children and adolescents); in charge of teaching the mood disorders module to the UCSF Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellows; in charge of leading a yearlong clinical rotation designed for third-year General Psychiatry Residents emphasizing diagnosis and treatment of fundamental knowledge and clinical skills in child and adolescent psychiatry
